Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finalize divorce settlement ending a long legal battle spanning over eight years with ongoing disputes over a winery.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Divorce Settlement

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have officially finalized their divorce settlement, marking the end of a prolonged legal battle spanning over eight years. The settlement addresses the division of marital assets and property rights but leaves other disputes unresolved.

The former couple, who were legally declared divorced in 2019, submitted a default declaration in Los Angeles Superior Court. This agreement waives future spousal financial support, although specific details remain undisclosed pending judicial approval. Jolie’s attorney described the resolution as a significant milestone in a complex process.

The couple initially split in 2016 following allegations of abuse by Pitt during a private flight. Although investigations by the FBI and child services concluded without charges, the accusations have remained a contentious point. Jolie has since prioritized her family’s well-being, with the latest settlement being a step towards closure.

The legal battles between Jolie and Pitt have been complicated. An earlier decision by a private judge, which granted joint custody of their children, was invalidated due to a conflict of interest. Over time, four of their six children reached adulthood, narrowing custody concerns to their 16-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Outside the divorce, the pair are embroiled in a lawsuit concerning their co-owned French winery, Chateau Miraval. Pitt claims Jolie’s sale of her stake without his consent breached their agreement, while Jolie alleges the sale was necessary to avoid signing a non-disclosure agreement. This dispute remains unresolved.

Jolie and Pitt, once among Hollywood’s most glamorous couples, rose to prominence with the 2005 film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Despite their split, both have continued their careers successfully. Jolie has focused on acting and directing, with recent acclaim for her portrayal of Maria Callas. Pitt has excelled as both an actor and producer, earning an Academy Award for “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.”

This case highlights the complexities of high-profile divorces, especially when intertwined with business interests and public scrutiny. It remains a significant moment in Hollywood’s legal and cultural landscape.
